1.

About this site

My Catholic Compass is a free, non-commercial website that helps people learn and understand the Catholic faith. We work to present faithfully what the Catholic Church teaches.

This is not an official website of the Holy See, the USCCB or any diocese, and it does not speak for the Church.

2.

For learning, not personal direction

Everything here is general teaching. It doesn't replace the sacraments, your parish, a priest or a spiritual director. For questions about your own situation, such as receiving the sacraments, marriage or becoming Catholic, please talk with your parish priest.

Nothing on this site is medical, legal, financial or mental health advice.

If anything on this site seems to conflict with the Catechism of the Catholic Church or the teaching of the Holy See, the Church's teaching is what counts.

3.

Accuracy

We write carefully and point to official Church sources, but mistakes can happen. Facts like Mass times, dates and figures can change. Please check important details with an official source or your parish.

4.

Using our content

The original writing and design of this site belong to My Catholic Compass.

You are welcome to link to any page, and to print or share pages for personal, family, parish, school or other non-commercial use, as long as you don't change them and you name My Catholic Compass as the source. Please don't copy the site, sell its content or present it as your own.

5.

Material from others

  • Quotations from Scripture, the Catechism and other Church documents belong to their publishers. We use short passages for teaching.
  • Paintings, mosaics and photos are in the public domain or used under the license named in their credit, most often through Wikimedia Commons.
  • Videos belong to the people and organizations that made them. They play from YouTube under YouTube's terms of service.

Their own terms and licenses apply to that material.

7.

Using the site fairly

Please use the site the way it is meant to be used. Don't:

  • try to break into, overload or interfere with the site
  • send false, automated or repeated entries to the journey counter
  • copy the site in bulk with automated tools in a way that harms it
  • use the site for anything unlawful

We may remove entries or block access when we need to protect the site or its visitors.

8.

No warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that the site will always be available, free of errors or free of harmful components.

9.
